The children of Ukraine need our help.

Next North is taking action to support and protect children and civilians most threatened by UXO, landmines and trafficking with new services and technology.

Ukraine is the most heavily mined country in the world, and this poses extremely dangerous environments to those living in the most devastated areas. While there are hundreds of NGOs with experience in quickly removing and reducing the danger to Ukraine’s citizens, restrictive new policies have slowed progress to a crawl. It is for this reason, we have stepped forward to create new solutions that can immediately save lives and limbs of innocent civilians.

We will be making new announcements on these developments in 2024. Please stay tuned for our progress and donate when you can. We are also seeking volunteers for fundraisers in 2025.

Thank you for your continued support, sponsorship and volunteer service.

There are over 37 million people in ukraine, 67,000 square miles or 30% of the land is contaminated by landmines.

Children of Ukraine are being hit hard and most without basic resources we all take for granted like freedom of movement, adult supervision, and access to basic needs of sustenance, warmth, and shelter.

Why are Ukraine’s children at risk?

While the reasons Ukrainian children end up in orphanages ranges, most are exposed to landmines everyday, many are preyed upon and subject to abuse, malnourishment, and the constant threat of sexual exploitation and trafficking. The latter is the most difficult to measure, diagnose and treat for all countries.

Our team members are professionals in unexploded ordnance (UXO), landmine removal, medical, psychology, technology and law enforcement disciplines with emphasis in fighting human trafficking and extensive experience in assisting people in austere environments. We specialize in identifying threats to children who are vulnerable to exploitation, and often victims of abuse. We operate in those areas most impacted by the invasion of Ukraine, the combat arena. Our teams are highly trained and adept at identifying, planning then safely accessing these locations under combat duress.

Next North leadership is working directly with Ukraine officials and offering assistance with education and awareness materials and training from experienced trafficking professionals.

It is for this reason we are asking for assistance in supporting Ukraine so that we can first save lives life and limbs and advise and support the ministries with provide a legal and safe pathway outside of the conflict and battle zones. Along with a formal Ukrainian led Task Force for Children, we will engage, support and offer materials to create awareness and education on UXO, landmines, trafficking and how to get help.

The path for 2024 is to assist with educating and creating more awareness on children already located outside of Ukraine and advising those providing legal guardianship with human rights and child protection agencies such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the regional governments, and our NGO partners.

Technology

Next North is working closely with the Ukrainian government authorities but do not move children, youth or citizens across borders. On behalf of the Ukraine government, we are offering educational and awareness solutions to citizens or those in the chain of custody of Ukraine’s children. This starts with positive identification and background checks that validate guardians, their organizations, donors and associates against international databases. This helps us to confidently to locate, contact, sustain and provide services and records should they be required in the future.

Awareness Training & Support

Next North is committed to finding long-term solutions and to work with partner organizations in Europe to develop safe and sustainable programs that promote critical aftercare, shelter and safety for all children. We are in the process of expanding efforts for Ukraine’s Ministries to quickly adapt this model and to build and symbiotic partner relationships to expand trauma related services to children for long-term resettlement. Preparation for this phase to offer support, sustenance, awareness training, psychological care, and technology will require ongoing support and collaboration.
